Last week, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) announced the formation of a Task Force on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment in the Workplace. The group will examine California’s current sexual harassment prevention training program, and explore new strategies for making workplaces safer for women. We are very proud that ERA’s Legal Director Jennifer Reisch will serve as one of the seven members of the Task Force.
Jennifer serves a unique and critical role on this Task Force as the sole member who actively represents women facing sexual harassment in the workplace. She said about her role and the Task Force’s work:
I am excited for this opportunity to draw on ERA’s rich institutional knowledge, as well as my own professional experience in counseling and litigating cases on behalf of women workers, to help the Task Force be more effective in making workplaces safer for women, especially those who are most vulnerable to sexual harassment and violence on the job, such as low-wage workers, immigrants, and workers in the restaurant and janitorial industries.
